This pub is perfectly situated for a stop off after a walk in Beeley Woods. On the main crossroads, Church Street in Oughtibridge.
A very dog friendly pub that serves a good range of drinks and food.
Food served Mon-Fri 12pm-8pm and Saturdays 12pm-4.30pm.
I have visited the Cock Inn on many occasions after a long walk and they have always been extremely welcoming of Watson and I, muddy boots and paws and all! (They sometimes have a sign outside that says something similar) in the week it is usually quite quiet and easy to find a table. A few times we have been in there has been more than 3 or 4 dogs and plenty of room for all.
On weekends it can get busy but it has a good, still very dog friendly, atmosphere. We even spent New Year's Eve here last year with the dog and it was great. We did leave at around 10.30pm as it was past Watsons bed time.
The food is all home cooked and made to order. The range of food is great, from English tapas to homemade pies and burgers, there should be something for everyone. The burgers and pies seem to be the speciality and what we tend to order though.
There is outdoor seating for the summer months at the front of the pub and round the back. The back beer garden has a secure gate too should anyone slip a lead!
Price wise I would say it is pretty average, a burger is around £8, and a pint around £3.50 depending on what you order.
All in all this is a great place to stop for good or just a drink after a nice long walk!
